In Season: March
I've been lucky enough to pick up lots of purple sprouting broccoli from a local (with car) farmshop- it's cheaper than in the supermarkets, and is a lot more intense in colour and taste (ie. it's a lot fresher). Here are some other seasonal foods.
In my local farmshop they were asking for £1.00 per stalk (ie with about 6 stems coming off said stalk). None in the supermarket! Managed to get some at £1.70 lb at a local village! How do they get away with it. My mum lives in a small market town and gets a carrier bag full for £1.00!!!
I found your blog posts really interesting and was wondering if you be interested in joining glipho? its a social publishing engine designed for bloggers/writers to further promote their blog posts.Sounds interesting? If yes then you can visit http://glipho.com/ and sign up.
I'm bored of eating sub-standard food, or the same old things everyday, so I'm on a mission to improve my cooking, and use fresh ingredients, whenever possible.
